SUPPORTING LOCAL INSTRUCTORS DURING LOCKDOWN

There is an abundance of online offerings right now - many from big global brands but we are urging you to support your local fitness instructor or PT who is doing it tough just trying to make ends meet.

Most fitness professionals are self employed and during lockdown with gyms closed, teaching online is their only income source.

We will be profiling instructors to help you choose so you can keep physically fit and support your mental health during these difficult times of COVID lockdown.

LUCY WALTON

is a personal trainer, class instructor, nutrition coach and sports therapist based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, in the UK. She has been teaching classes for 14 years and during lockdown began teaching classes live online on various platforms.

Lucy's background is in bodybuilding and she is a Pro drug free figure and fit body competitor. Her nickname is Puffin and everyone that joins her classes becomes part of 'Team Puffin'.

Her current online offering consists of 10 live/on demand classes a week leaving no body part unworked. From HIIT workouts and strength sessions to combat tabata, core and stretch classes there really is something for everyone. She has even organised a few themed classes including an 80's fancy dress and a 'wear your pyjama's' class to keep the workouts fun and motivating.

"When I first started teaching in 2007, never would I ever have expected to be teaching online in this way. I can honestly say that I absolutely love it and I have built a growing community of like minded individuals that are training with me from home every single day."

Lucy's classes are suitable for all abilities and fitness levels and you can choose to have your camera on or off during the class.
